I have long loved the poetry of Rabindranath Tagore, but had never read any of his prose. This was a wonderful surprise for me as the book was very easy to read and the characters were compelling and complex. It has a very bittersweet quality to the book which is one of the things I enjoy about Indian culture; the ability to look at human life and love from a philosophical point of view. I highly recommend!
